Tyra Abdalla, DPT PHC
Physical Therapist

Tyra studied at Duquesne University for both her undergraduate and graduate degrees. She received two B.S. degrees in Biology and Health Sciences before receiving her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. After obtaining her doctoral degree, Tyra pursued further education in women’s health receiving a certification as Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation Specialist through Evidence In Motion. Tyra is specially trained in external and internal manual therapy techniques to evaluate and treat dysfunction as it relates to the pelvis.
When asked about her passion for PT, Tyra said, “One of the things I love about my job is being able to find what drives people and help them achieve the goals necessary to do that thing. Helping someone get their independence back is one of the best feelings in the world. I have a passion for Women's health treating the different conditions that may cause need for physical therapy throughout their lifetimes (adolescence, peripartum, postpartum, postmenopausal etc.)”
Tyra also believes in Wonsettler Physical Therapy’s holistic approach. “Working at WPT allows me to spend the 1:1 time necessary for evoking sustainable positive change and allows me to form a deeper bond with my patients. All of the PT's and staff are on the same page of putting the patient first and doing everything we can to make it a positive experience while making it fun and exciting everyday.”
When Tyra isn’t at WPT you can find her running, cycling, or spending time with her Fiancé Ryan and her dog Maggie. Tyra is also a film buff and is even involved in a film club.
